Surfside Oasis
Bathsheba, Barbados
This large estate in Barbados sits along a rocky shore that is prime for surfing. The site provided plenty of topographical challenges and demanded careful placement of necessary buildings in order to preserve historical view sheds from various points around the island. Due to the high salt spray and open exposure to the windward winds, the building materials and plants needed to be indestructible and able to take the harsh conditions while maintaining a luxury aesthetic.
This Project was started while working at Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects and is currently in construction with a completion date of Fall 2027. Jim of JWN was the project manager under Partner Nick Fobes.

The thresholds between indoor vs outdoor spaces across the main home and several guest houses are intentionally blurred.
This project required close coordination with the architect, engineers, contractors and local municipalities. A professional rendering consultant was tasked to produce hyper realistic renderings as seen below for team and client visibility.
