Rural Estate
Hartland, WI
An existing home on a large acreage in rural Wisconsin was purchased by the client and renovated / expanded with a large new guest house and garage. This new construction prompted the addition of a central pool, spa, and outdoor dining space.
One major point of concern was the need for instant privacy to the pool area from the county roads surrounding. The use of subtle grading changes and the proposed installation of mature evergreen trees in key areas near to the house would combat this issue.

Sound pollution from the nearby roadways was another client concern that needed addressing. This rendering shows a natural looking waterfall ledge that flows into the new swimming pool which creates an ambient sound to block the hum of passing vehicles. This waterfall doubles as an active jumping ledge into the deep end of the pool.
This project was completed while working at Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects.
